Colchester Transfer
Terms of booking
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms apply when you request or book a private transfer with Colchester Transfer(“we”, “us”) through our website or with our team.
Quotes and bookings
Online prices are quotes based on the details you enter (route, vehicle, schedule, extras, and any promo code). A booking request is only confirmed when we accept it. Until then, availability and final arrangements may still change.
You are responsible for providing accurate pickup, destination, flight (if relevant), passenger, and contact details.
Card payments and holds
For card bookings we typically place an authorisation hold with our payment provider (Mollie). The hold reserves funds; we usually capture payment when we accept the booking. If we do not accept the booking, or the hold expires unused, the hold is released according to your card issuer’s timings.
Cash / pay-on-the-day options (when offered) mean payment is collected from you at the time of travel unless we agree otherwise.
Acceptance, changes, and cancellations
After you submit a request we aim to confirm within our stated timeframe (for example within 24 hours for many online holds). We may decline a booking if we cannot cover it safely or on time.
To change or cancel, contact us as soon as possible on 01206 700 751 or bookings@colchesterairporttransfer.co.uk. Charges or refunds for late changes/cancellations depend on notice given, costs already incurred, and whether payment has been captured. We will explain the outcome when you contact us.
Service standards
We provide private hire / transfer services as described at booking. Journey times are estimates and can be affected by traffic, weather, airport operations, and passenger readiness. Meet-and-greet and waiting time rules (including parking charges where noted) form part of your quote when shown.
You must allow enough time for check-in, security, and boarding. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we are not responsible for missed flights or connections caused by late passenger readiness, incorrect details, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Passenger conduct and luggage
You must ensure the vehicle class booked can take your party and luggage. Dangerous goods, illegal items, and behaviour that puts the driver or others at risk are not allowed. We may refuse or end a journey in those cases without refund of unavoidable costs.
Refunds
Where a card payment has been captured and a refund is due, we process it through Mollie. Card issuer timings vary. Authorisation holds that were never captured are released rather than “refunded”.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as missed onward travel costs) except where we have been negligent or breached these terms in a way the law does not allow us to exclude.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. UK consumer rights that cannot be excluded still apply.
